The Yavapai Trails Association (YTA) YTA Youth Trails Challenge initiative aims to expand youth engagement in healthy outdoor activities. YTA is offering a “challenge” program experience to safely utilize, explore, and become a future steward of our vast network of trails in Yavapai County.
Over 450 miles of non-motorized trails are within our backyard. Our county is rich in history and geological wonders. The YYTC will offer urban and rural youth alike opportunities to participate in outdoor trail activities on foot, on a mountain bike, or on horseback to experience a connection to these places. The Youth Challenge program will promote opportunities for young people to learn Leave No Trace principles, practice proper trail etiquette, be prepared properly for an outdoor trail experience, and cultivate an understanding of public lands and foster participation in the care of these lands.
