Yavapai
Trails Association is
dedicated to protecting, preserving, and developing recreational,
non-motorized trails. We are an all-volunteer group that
represents the interests of hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians.
We are a
non-profit corporation with federal 501(c)3 designation, and our
operating expenses are funded by dues and donations. We are
supported by many other organizations and recognized by the cities of
Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Chino Valley, as well as Yavapai County,
the USDA Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the state
of Arizona.
We welcome
you to
join us in active participation. We have many different projects
requiring a variety of skills. All monetary donations -- but not
dues -- are fully tax deductible.
Second
Annual Trail Rally FUNd-Raiser
Saturday, April 28, 2007,
Check-in: 8
a.m.
Brownlow Trailhead, Pioneer Park,
Prescott,
AZ
Sponsored by
Yavapai Trails Association
and the City of Prescott
Welcome to the 2nd Annual Trail
Rally FUNd-raiser,
where hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders team up to win prizes,
have fun,
and raise money for Prescott's
trails. Teams will be composed of a hiker, mountain biker, and a horse
and
rider who will navigate separate loops of the Brownlow trail
system.
The trails wind through grasslands and chaparral, with
gentle-to-moderate
elevation gain. Each loop will take about an hour to complete. This is
not a
timed event, so it's fun for everyone!
Don’t worry if you don’t have a complete team.
We'll take
your name (and form of locomotion) and match you up with others seeking
teammates. If you've formed a hiker, biker and horse and rider team
already,
great!
Not only will you have fun
and raise money for Prescott’s
trails, you’ll
also have a chance to win prize money. Your registration fee entitles
you to a
“poker” card. Each team member picks up a playing card along their
trail and
the results are tallied. The three highest "scoring" teams win cash
prizes.
Registration
Entry fee is $15
per person. The entry fee entitles you to a playing card and a
chance to win prizes. Advance registration is required; however, fees
may be paid the day of the rally from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the
Brownlow Trailhead. Registration fees are payable by check or cash.
Please make checks payable to Yavapai Trails Association.
Participants must pick up their numbers and rally packets at the
Brownlow Trailhead from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on April 28.
For telephone
registration: call Joyce at (928) 778-4985.
For mail-in registration:
print out, fill in, and sign both the
Registration
Application and Liability
Release. Equestrians must also fill out and sign the Statement of
Rider and Liability Waiver.
In order for us to put together teams, the registration
deadline is April 21, 2007.
